Petition Against Hunts Grove
We welcome the Government's commitment to housing and wholeheartedly support the 5,000 new homes that have been built in Gloucester Quays, the Cattle Market and Quedgeley in the last three
years. We welcome further sustainable development.
However, we the undersigned call on the Government Office to resist planning permission for the Hunts Grove development.
We are concerned that the Hunts Grove Development is badly designed and an example of urban sprawl which
could have a negative impact on residents living in the South of Gloucester City and for the regeneration of the Gloucester City
Centre.
We also agree with the MP for Stroud that it is not sustainable to focus all of Stroud's requirement for
housing onto one part of the District, whilst rural areas of Stroud are desperately in need of more housing.
We believe that resisting planning permission for the Hunts Grove development is in the best interests of local residents in both Gloucester and
Stroud.
